With "Price Index History", you can track and analyze how prices evolve over time across different retailers. This view is designed to give you an edge by understanding your competitive landscape's price positioning and movements.

Where to find

To access the insight, navigate to Historical Data> Price Index History from the left sidebar.

What you see

On this page, you can find a rich graphical representation along with a detailed tabular account of price index evolution:

  • Graph: A line chart that traces the price index of products across various retailers over selectable time frames.

  • Table: Below the graph is a table that gives weekly updates on the price index for each retailer.

How to use

Graph

The line chart helps you monitor price index trends over specific periods.

  • Interactive Points: Hovering over any point on the graph will display the price index at that moment for the selected shop.

  • Brand Category Selection: You can select or deselect brands or categories for a customized market view.

Table

The table provides a week-by-week record of price indexing, giving you a precise understanding of market fluctuations.

Columns Include:

  • Week End: The ending date of the week for the indexed prices.

  • Shops: Lists the retailers included in the price index.

  • Price Indexing: Shows the percentage of the price index relative to the base price set in the system.

You can also sort each column by name.

Below each header, you can find a search box to easily filter the data in each column.

If you wish to increase the number of visible entries, click on the "Show entries" dropdown menu.

You can drill down by clicking on a shop/week, and you will be presented with all the data for this specific week.

From there, you can drill down to the category level until you find the actual product names by clicking the category name.

How to download the data

If you need to present the data outside the tgndata platform, you can export a CSV file with all the information for more detailed analysis and integration with other tools/systems.
