Managing Roles and Permissions

Updated over a week ago

Important: Role creation and assignment are restricted to Admin users. Team members without admin rights cannot manage roles or permissions.

Overview

With Roles Management, you can control who has access to what in your tgndata account. This feature allows you to assign different roles and permissions to your team members, ensuring that everyone has the right level of access to use the platform effectively.

You can use this to:

  • Define clear responsibilities by assigning the right role to each team member.

  • Control sensitive data access (e.g., pricing rules, API keys).

  • Improve collaboration by giving teams only the tools they need.

Where to find

From the upper-right corner of the screen, click your profile icon and click on the Team Management Settings.

What you see

In the Team Management Settings, you’ll find two tabs:

  1. Team Management – shows all account users, along with the roles assigned to them.

  2. Role Management – displays all created roles, lets you create or edit roles, and shows how many users are assigned to each role.

Note: If you haven’t created any roles yet, all users are automatically assigned to the default role, which grants access to all tgndata modules.

How to Use

Creating a Role

Go to the Role Management tab (on the right) and click Create New Role.

In the form popup:

  • Enter a name for the role (e.g., Marketing, Pricing Manager, Sales).

  • Select the permissions for that role.

  • Use the Enable All toggle to enable everything, then deselect specific checkboxes if you want to exclude sections.

You can only control which sections a user can view in the platform.

Once satisfied, click Save Role.

Editing or Deleting a Role

  • To edit a role, click Edit, adjust the permissions, and save.

  • To delete a role, click Delete and confirm.

Assigning Roles to Users

  1. Go to the Team Management tab.

  1. In the Role column, use the dropdown to assign a role to each user.
